Gitano van Berkenbroeck placed second in the national GP of Verona. He was ridden by his usual rider Juan-Carlos Garcia. The Berkenbroeck stallion jumped double clear in one of the most respected national GP's of the country.

Arko III is already in the top hundredth of the world ranking for show jumping stallions. He is in 74th spot. His best son Argento was the number thirteen on the world ranking for show jumping horses in 2014.


30-11-2014     Dries Dekkers wins Big Tour Lichtenvoorde

Dries Dekkers and Eclips van Berkenbroeck (Nonstop) have won the big tour 1.40m for Young Riders at CSI Achterhoek on Friday. Eclips is owned by Michel Spaas, but was bred by Liliane Vermeulen- Van Es.


30-11-2014     Deusser & Pironella 3rd in Madrid

Daniel Deusser has a new top horse with Pironella (Nonstop). The mare of Keean White placed third at 1.55m Friday in Madrid. Robert Whitaker grabbed the victory.


17-11-2014     Nonstop son fifth in GP Master Tour Malaga

The Nonstop offspring did well in the final GP of the outdoor Autumn Tour in Malaga. Zambezi placed fifth in the GP. The horse is ridden by Amber Fijen for owner Peter Bulthuis. The horse was born in Belgium with Leon Van Der Ende.

Daniel Deusser has won the Friday big class at GCT Final in Doha. He was the best after a sixteen horse jump-off in which Pironella (Nonstop) proved to be the best.

Kevin Gielen has won the Ranking Class at Friday in Malaga again. Just as last week, he grabbed the 6.000 euro for first place. Again he rode Fariska (Nonstop), bred by Jan Heldens. The Nonstop daughter Little Pleasure won the 7 year old final.

Kevin Gielen and Fariska have won the Ranking Class on Friday in Malaga. On Sunday one down in the course kept them away from the jump-off, but the show already was successful after the Ranking class victory on Friday.


28-10-2014     Stany Buckinx: “Michel Spaas staat me al 25 jaar bij met raad en daad”

Ze zijn met meer dan je denkt, de kleine fokkers die groots zijn in hun daden. In Limburg heb je Stany Buckinx, een 44-jarige beroepschauffer uit Tongeren, die in zijn vrije tijd jaarlijks één of twee veulentjes fokt voor eigen gebruik of voor de verkoop. Zijn naam doet wellicht nog geen belletje rinkelen, maar als we de straatnaam Vrijhern verklappen, ben je automatisch mee. De paarden van ’t Vrijhern maakten wereldfaam en dat dankt Stany Buckinx in de eerste plaats aan zijn vertrouwde hengstenhouder Michel Spaas. ’25 Jaar geleden, toen hij nog op Manege Allius in Alken was gevestigd, heb ik hem leren kennen. Sindsdien staat hij me bij met raad en daad. De paardenmicrobe heb ik overgezet van mijn grootvader Armand Hansen. Van hem kreeg ik de merrie Kitty van Vrijhern (Feo x Lugano van la Roche). Mijn eerste veulens van die merrie, gekruist met de hengsten van Stoeterij Berkenbroeck, bezorgden me meteen fantastische momenten als fokker.’

Kitty was in de eerste plaats een merrie met een gouden karakter en een super springpaardje. Ze was maar 1.58m, maar ze overwon de zwaarste hindernissen. We bedoelen de Klasse Zwaar van LRV. Ze legde het af tegen paarden tot vijftien centimeter groter dan haar en ze had nog een handicap. ‘Ik fokte ondertussen met haar. Tot een maand voor de geboorte van de veulens, ging ze mee op wedstrijd. Eigenlijk was ze altijd drachtig als ik ermee reed. Wat heb ik plezier beleefd aan dat paard.’

Haar fokproducten zorgden voor onverminderd succes. De oudste zoon Power van Vrijhern, een BWP-dekhengst, was een succesvol Grand Prixpaard dat in de sport acteerde onder de naam Harry Potter. Onder de topruiters Peter Wylde en John Pearce wist hij diverse GP’s en wereldbekers te winnen in Europa en Amerika. Harry Potter was een zoon van Jus de Pomme, want de latere Olympisch kampioen van Ulrich Kirchhoff stond toen nog gewoon ter dekking in Alken bij Michel Spaas op Manege Allius. Kitty’s dochter Sitah van Vrijhern zou het nog verder schoppen. Met Kirk Webby liep zij in 2008 voor Nieuw-Zeeland op de Olympisch Spelen in Hongkong, met een 33ste plaats als eindresultaat. Deze Olympische merrie heeft als vader Nonstop, de zoon van Darco die met bijna 25 jaar nog steeds ter dekking staat op Berkenbroeck en nog steeds voor nieuwe toppaarden in de moderne springsport zorgt. Denk maar aan Uni Stop (John Whitaker), Pironella (Daniel Deusser) en Fariska (Kevin Gielen).
Cyber van Vrijhern was de derde nakomeling van Kitty voorbestemd voor de internationale sport. Hij werd net als zijn drie kwartbroer Power (Harry Potter) goedgekeurd voor BWP en sprong met Patrik Spits op GP-niveau. Zijn hoogtepunt was een tweede plaats in de CSI3* GP van St.-Lô. Ook hier leverde Michel Spaas de vader, namelijk Perhaps van Berkenbroeck (Jus de Pomme).

Hoewel Kitty er al een poosje niet meer is, fokt Stany nog steeds met haar kroost verder. ‘Om af en toe eens iets te verkopen, maar ook om zelf te kunnen rijden. Ik leid nog steeds mijn eigen paarden op en laat me daarbij helpen door de Paardenhumaniora van Bilzen. Alle paarden krijgen een kans. Veulens verkoop ik liever niet. Het zorgt er wel voor dat ik momenteel een dertiental paarden heb staan. Zeer beloftevol is een vierjarige merrie van Nonstop x Perhaps van Berkenbroeck. Ze ging nog niet vaak mee op wedstrijd, maar gaat er zienderogen op vooruit. Springt nu al Licht! Als ik haar kan houden, moet zij mijn fokmerrie voor de toekomst worden. Daarnaast heb ik ook nog een dochter van Cortina Grande, het vroegere paard van Guy Janssens. En nog steeds genieten de hengsten van Michel Spaas mijn voorkeur. Volgend jaar verwacht ik geen veulens. Het vruchtje is afgestorven op zes weken. Ik heb wel nog beloftevolle jonge paarden van o.a. Dior van Berkenbroeck en Arko III staan. Hopelijk treden zij in de voetsporen van Harry Potter, Sitah en Cyber van Vrijhern.’


25-10-2014     Gitano van Berkenbroeck wins Masters Horse and Friends Event

Gitano, only an eight year old stallion of our stud, wins Masters at Horse and Friends event in Sentower Park, under the saddle of Juan Carlos Garco. James Paterson placed in second. Show director Wilm Vermeir ended up fourth.


21-10-2014     Son of Opus Dei van Berkenbroeck at GP level

In the GP of CSI2* Lier, the stallion Best of Opus Dei Z (Balou du Rouet) placed third and ninth in the big tour. Best of is a son of the mare Opus Dei van Berkenbroeck (Jus de Pomme), ridden by Dominique Joassin. The pair is competing well for a while. He won the GP of Dinard last summer and represented Belgium at the Brazilian Nations Cup of Porto Alegre.


13-10-2014     HOYS: Whitaker second placed five times in a row

It seemed like John Whitaker subscribed for second place at Horse Of the Year Show in Birmingham. He placed 2nd aboard Uni Stop (Nonstop) & Argento (Arko III). Nevertheless Friday he started off with a victory on Lord of Arabia, but what followed, were only second places, twice with Lord of Arabia, once with Uni Stop (Nonstop) at 1.55m and twice with Argento (Arko III) in the GP classes.


13-10-2014     Deusser & Nonstop daughter second in Queen's Cup Barcelona

Daniel Deusser has some new mounts and one of them is Piranella, a Canadian bred daughter of Nonstop, which placed immediately second in the GP of Barcelona.
The Nonstop mare Pironella was born in Canada at North Ridge Farm, but previously jumped under the saddle of Canadian world cup rider Keean White of Angelstone Farm.


01-10-2014     Son of Arko III Belgian Champion 3 year olds and sold to T&L

Genairo III (Arko III x Goodtimes), the winner of the Medaille van de Koning in Gesves, was acquired by Luc Tilleman.
The Arko III-son, also was loose jump champion last year as a two year old in Flemalle, and this year he was approved by sBs.


29-09-2014     Nonstop mare produces top foals in Lanaken and LA

Umbra van Reiersdonk, a mare by Nonstop, now has already three offspring jumping amongst the best of the world. In Lanaken Sarah Toussaint was the revelation of the world cahmpionship by ending up in fourth position on the amazing mare Best de la Hart (Kashmir vh Schuttershof). One week later at the Longines Masters in Los Angeles two full brothers jump between the op of the world. Then we are talking about HH Dark de la Hart (Quentin Judge), een BWP-gekeurde hengst, and Unpulsion de la Hart (Philippe Rozier). They both placed at 1.50m in California.


22-09-2014     Berkenbroeck acquires new Z approved Indoctro stallion

Berkenbroeck has acquired a new Z approved Indoctro stallion, named Floyd van Schore. Floyd was one of the best jumping stallions during the three day test at Zangersheide approvals. He's out of a Burggraaf mother.


14-09-2014     Argento second in GCT Lausanne

In the Global Champions Tour GP of Lausanne, John Whitaker and Argento (Arko III) just missed out the win, ending up in second position, behind Ludger Beerbaum and Chaman.


01-09-2014     Arko III scores at Championnat de Wallonie

The offspring of Arko III performed well at the Championship of Wallonie. Two foals reached the top ten and one two year old was in the top five. Our congratulations go to Attendu du Lannois Z of Hélène Quairiat at four and Harka du Val d'Heure of Philippe Tiliere at nine. The two-year-old Locarina St Benoit (Arko III) placed third and fifth at the conformation test and in loose jumping.


25-08-2014     Nonstop son wins GP Samorin

Not only in Belgium a Nonstop descendant won the GP. Amber Fijen also grabbed the victory in Samorin (Slovakia) on Zambezi (Nonstop), born as Ende Zambezi at the stable of Leon Van Der Ende.


25-08-2014     Fariska wins GP Mercedes

Victory in the class Mercedes went to Kevin Gielen aboard Fariska (Nonstop), just in front of Stephan de Freitas Barcha and the revelation of the week Michol del Signore from Italy. Hanne Mertens was the second Belgian rider double clean at place number four. Vicky Van De Poel ended up in fourth place being the fastest with four points in the jump-off, and left behind her compatriots Tim Van Den Broeck and Freddy Demuynck.


18-08-2014     Gesves: Gold for Arko son and zilver for Nonstop daughter

At the Belgian championships for young horses in Gesves the five year old mare Just in Time took bronze under the saddle of Benny Naessens. The Medaille van de Koning, a loose jump and model test, was won by a three year old stallion by Arko III.

31-07-2014     Blue Boy fifth at 1.50m in Gijon

Juan Carlos Garcia and Blue Boy van Berkenbroeck placed fifth in the first 1.50m class of CSIO Gijon. The American rider Quentin Judge won aboard HH Copin vd Broy.


29-07-2014     Big money victory for Argento in Treffen

At the Glock’s Performance Center in the Austian city Treffen, John Whitaker has won the Grand Prix in the saddle of Argento, his own stallion by Arko III. Argento jumped fast and clear in the jump-off, which provided him a cheque of 112.500 euro, which is more than what you win in a regular Global Champions Tour GP. Gaston Glock’s show proved to be one of the most prestigious shows of the world, with top riders, horses and top brands represented. Daniel Deusser (First Class) placed second), Malin Baryard-Johnson (Tornesch) third.


21-07-2014     For Pleasure offspring strong at CHIO Aachen

Barron and Lucy Davis placed sixth in the GP. Fit For Fun and Luciana Diniz were tenth after one down in round two. Also Quiz of Darragh Kenny and For Sale of Henrick von Eckermann scored some nice results in the Soers. Also the grandchildren Fibonacci (Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum) and Fine Lady (Eric Lamaze) jumped in the spotlights in the big classes.


21-07-2014     Nonstop-daughter wins Belgian Young Horse Cyclus

Only five five-year-olds jumped nine clear rounds on nine efforts. One of them was Just in Time, by Nonstop, ridden by Benny Naessens. The horse was born at Eric Claeys from Knokke-Heist.


08-07-2014     Figo vd Blauwaert wint National GP

At the new Azelhof equestrian center, the Nonstop son Figo vd Blauwaert wins the National Cyclus GP. He was ridden by Christophe David.


27-06-2014     4th Place for Blue Boy in welcome class GCT Monaco

Juan Carlos Garcia and Blue Boy van Berkenbroeck placed fourth in the welcome class at Monaco. Our grey stallion jumped clear and fast. Only Ben Maher, Constant Van Paesschen and Maikel van der Vleuten were faster.


21-06-2014     Abbervail is Champion of Rotterdam

Denis Lynch and Abbervail vh Dingenshof, by Nonstop, have won the Rabobank Championship of Rotterdam. They won after a jump-off with twelve over 1.55m.


15-06-2014     Kevin Gielen and Fariska fourth in World Cup

Kevin Gielen and Fariska placed fourth in World Cup of Olomouc. Two weeks ago they also were fourth in the GP of Eindhoven. Furthermore in Olomouc there was a victory for the Belgian pair at 1.45m.


12-06-2014     Blue Boy 3th in opening class Cannes

Great performance from the Global Champions Tour in Cannes. In the 1.45m opening class there is a third place for Juan Carlos Garcia with our stallion Blue Boy van Berkenbroeck (Poor Boy).


10-06-2014     Nonstop son wins Youngster Final Wiesbaden

Tim Hoster and Gladstone have won the CSI YH Final at the Riders Tour event at Wiesbaden, Germany. Gladstone is a son of Nonstop, eight year old and owned by Jos Lansink. The gelding was born at Kathy Vanden Broucke's.


02-06-2014     Kevin Gielen and Fariska fourth in GP of Eindhoven

A fabulous turn out of the GP of Eindhoven for Kevin Gielen aboard Fariska (Nonstop). The nine-year-old mare guided her Belgian rider to fourth place in the GP of Eindhoven. They were fastest four pointers in the jump-off. Only three went double clear. Tim Hoster won, in front of Jessica Mendoza and Jos Lansink.


29-05-2014     John Whitaker has a new ride by Nonstop

John Whitaker has a new horse by Nonstop. His name is Unistop. It's not the horse that won so many classes with Jeroen Appelen, but the other one which was seen last year under Belgian Nick Motmans, who passed away so abruptly. Whitaker and Unistop already scored some nice ribbons last week in Windsor and now placed second in the opening class of the GCT Hamburg. Also in Hamburg Mylord Carthago and Penelope Leprevost placed second in the Championat. Two weeks earlier they won a main class in La Baule.


13-05-2014     Fonzie placed second in Ranking Class CSIO Linz

Katrin Eckermann jumped to second place in the Ranking class 1.50m Saturday afternoon in Linz, Austria. She rides this horse, bred by Francesca Rossetto, only since the beginning of this year.


06-05-2014     Mylord Carthago makes comeback in Lummen

Penelope Leprevost took her top stallion Mylord Carthago to Lummen for the CSIO after a long recovery. The stallion seemed to be back in top form. At the first day he only caught a time penalty. On Saturday he qualified for the jump-off of the Small GP, in which he ended up ninth after one down.


21-04-2014     Amai second in GP World Cup Finals Lyon

Michael Whitaker and Amai (Nonstop) were second placed in the CSI3* GP of Lyon. That competition took place in the border of the world cup final in France. Ludger Beerbaum was the winner.


15-04-2014     Son of Diamant de Semilly wins first GP Spring Tour Lummen

Joe Clee and Utamaro (Diamant de Semilly) won the GP, and also placed fourth on Friday in the Longines Ranking class. Utamaro was born with Christophe Ameeuw, he's owned by Ludwig Criel and he's ridden by Joe Clee.


11-04-2014     Spring Tour Lummen: Eloïse du Petit Vivier seven seconds in front!

The Nonstop mare Eloïse du Petit Vivier has won the 1.45m class at day one of the Spring Tour in Lummen. Her rider Luka Zaloznik steered her around seven seconds faster than the number two Sven Van Dijck from Belgium.


07-04-2014     Nonstop-daughter in top ten of GP Arezzo

After one fault over two 1.50m rounds the nine year old mare Fariska (Nonstop) placed tenth in the GP of Arezzo. Rider Kevin Gielen took the mare of Johan Vanderborght over from Joke Mardaga one year ago and also placed fourth in the GP of Vilamoura and second indoor in Roosendaal. Jan Heldens is the breeder.


31-03-2014     Nonstop offsprong at spots two and three in Belgian Cyclus

Nonstop offspring ends at spots two and three in the first round of the nine stage Belgian national circuit for young horses. Ibero Star vd Schelpenhoeve, bred by Samir Brahimi, placed second under the saddle of Jean-Christophe De Grande. Naomie Asselman ended up in third on Ittentiet Deux, bred by Dirk Wuytack.

The first class for seven-year-old horses during the Toscana Tour in Arezzo was won bij Ignace Philips on H Blue Boy van Essene, and it also won the Thursday class for seven year olds! Blue Boy is a son of our stallion Blue Boy van Berkenbroeck.

Michael Whitaker and Amai (Nonstop) won the 1.50m class Wednesday at the super modern Al Shaqab center. Amai is a son of Nonstop x Bacara bred by Frank Rijkers.


11-03-2014     Arko III son approved for Studbook sBs

The Belgian studbook sBs has accepted the Arko III-son Genairo III vd Zeilhoek as an approved stallion. The stallion is owned by SPRL Pontrihen. SBS also approved an Arko son last year with Everton de Villee.


09-03-2014     Lynch and Abbervail second in GP Braunschweig

Denis Lynch places second in the GP of the Löwen Classic during CSI4* Braunschweig. Only Philipp Weishaupt, also Saturday's winner, was faster in the jump-off.


07-03-2014     Aristio third, fifth and eigth at WEF

Nick Skelton (photo) is gradually producing his new Mount Aristio, an eight year old stallion by the AES approved Arko III, owned by John Hales. Currently they are quite confident at 1.45m level. Which resulted in a third, fifth and eighth place at the Winter Equestrian Festival this week.


06-03-2014     Nonstop son wins twice at Villeneuve-Loubet Tour

The Nonstop-son Ibero Star vd Schelpenhoeve wins at Villeneuve-Loubet on the first day of the second week jumping and also grabs the final. Last week the gelding of Jean-Christophe De Grande placed already second in the finals. Ibero Star was born in Belgium with Samir Brahimi.


03-03-2014     Van Paesschen victorious with new Baloubet-descendant

Constant Van Paesschen has a daughter of Baloubet du Rouet x Darco in his stable and immediately wins a class on the horse during the MET Tour in Oliva. The seven-year-old named Citizenguard Terre d'Aix recently was acquired by Van Paesschen's sponsor Alain Vancampenhoudt. Van Paesschen also placed third in the 1.45m class on Diamanthina vh Ruytershof, a daughter of Diamant de Semilly.


03-03-2014     For Pleasure daughter jumps clear at CSIO Wellington

Who's hesitating? The offspring of For Pleasure really jumps in the footsteps of their father. Derly Chin de Muze jumped clear in nations cup and GP of CSIO Wellington. She ended up in fourth spot at the Sunday CSIO4* GP. In the nations cup the other team members didn't bring a good result.

At the first week of the Sunshine Tour in Spain Argento won immediately the two main GP's on Friday and Sunday.


17-02-2014     Granddaughter For Pleasure wins GP Neumunster

The biggest show of the weekend was organized in Holstein. Fine Lady (Forsyth) won the GP at the VR Classics in Neumunster. This granddaughter of For Pleasure was ridden by Holger Wulschner. Baloubet-son Balance (A. Kreuzer) placed second at 1.50m on Saturday night. Another 1.50m was won by the Diamant daughter Quapitola de Beaufour (T. Rieskamp).


10-02-2014     Quickly de Kreisker, by Diamant, wins GP Al Ain

Abdelkebir Ouaddar and the extremely talented stallion Quickly de Kreisker (Diamant de Semilly) scored victory again. They won the GP of CSIO5* Al Ain.


10-02-2014     Son of Baloubet du Rouet is KWPN champion

Genius, a son of Baloubet du Rouet x Cantus, is the new KWPN stallion champion in show jumping section. Genius is not only a superb jumper, but he also has the looks, the moves and the genes. His father Baloubet is the world number one in producing show jumpers. His grandmother is Jikke of Eric Van der Vleuten. Three Baloubet-sons are nominated for the saddle test.

In France the Baloubet son Brazil was accepted for Z-France. Also the Arko III son Akito de Jarsay was Z approved in Deauville.

10-02-2014     Nonstop-offspring wanted in Middle East

Under his Slovenian rider Luka Zaloznik he was more than two seconds faster than the number two. Gayatri is bred by Lieve Weltjens out of the Jus de Pomme-mare Quintina.


03-02-2014     Sherman Sitte available at Berkenbroeck

Sherman Sitte will be availabe through fresh and frozen semen, depending the show schedule.

Sherman Sitte will be shown by Juan-Carlos Garcia during the time Cindy Van der Straten is pregnant. He will compete at the GCT 2014. Sherman Sitte is an international competitor himself, just like his mother Nialta Sitte and his family Ogano, Ugano, Baltik, Atlantic, Cordano and Callas Sitte.

Sherman is sBs approved.


03-02-2014     Skelton gets Arko III son of John Hales

Aristio (Arko III) is an eight-year-old stallion, previously seen under Robert Whitaker. He has Voltaire as father of his mother. Skelton and Aristio jumped some very nice clear rounds during the WEF in Florida last weeks.

Pieter Devos and Couscous van Orti have won the international GP of the Winter Equestrian Nights in Lier. The mothers of Couscous and Nonstop are halfsisters.


27-01-2014     Argento wint GP Amsterdam

Afgelopen weekend was de wereldtop te gast in Amsterdam. Argento de Arko III hengst van John Whitaker won er de Grote Prijs (1m60). Eerder tijdens de jumping wist Argento al een 1m50 proef te winnen.

In de rubriek 5 jarige behaalde de Arko III Arla onder Anthony Condon een 2de plaats.
Uni Stop onder Constant Van Paesschen behaalde een 2de plaats in de 1m30 en een 1ste plaats in de 1m40 rubriek.
Gulio van de Koelaar behaalde een 12de plaats in de 1M35 rubriek.
In de 1m40 rubriek behaalde Esperanto van Paemel onder Cherronet Aldrik een 6de en een 8ste plaats.
Ook in de 1M40 behaalde Forever von Rocherath onder cecilie Hatteland een 5de en een 7de plaats.

In de GP 1m55 behaalde de Non stop Abbervail van het Dingenshof onder Dennis Lynch een 10de plaats.

De Non Stop Eloise du petit Vivier onder Luca Zaloznik behaalde een 1ste plaats in de 1m40 rubriek en een 9de plaats in de 1m45 rubriek.
